Atlantis, Iceland shoot – day 17
The day started in the dark, as they would from here on. First stop was for a scene at a rather misty canyon with the combined rush of rainfall run-off and glacier melt-waters.
Continuing our journey, it was into the vast “new” lava fields where the “first-arriver” moss provides the basis for new organic life in the jagged black aftermath of an eruption.
Before long another glacier loomed large in the rain. In the cold wet air, we marvelled at the enormity of the landscape, its unforgivingness and expansiveness. Truly a land of gigantic landscapes.
Last stops before the fading light caught up with us were the lagoon at Jökulsárlón and the diamond beach. Quite amazing. And so, to our accommodation for our last night as a group of 6.
